Introduction

You know that feeling when you hate someone so much that you can’t stop thinking about them? Yeah. That’s basically the whole plot of every enemies to lovers Wattpad story on this list.

Enemies to lovers is one of those tropes that never gets old. Two people who can’t stand each other. Constant arguments.

Way too much eye contact. And somehow, by chapter 20, you’re crying because they finally admitted they’re in love. It’s messy, it’s dramatic, and honestly? It’s addictive.

Wattpad has thousands of these stories. Some are amazing. Some are… not it. So we went through the platform, checked real read counts, votes, and rankings, and picked out 25 stories that are actually worth your time.

No random filler. No copy-pasted lists. Just the good stuff, grouped so you can find exactly the vibe you’re in the mood for.

Let’s get into it.

How We Picked These

We didn’t just grab whatever showed up first on Google. We looked at real Wattpad numbers — reads, votes, rankings — and picked stories with a mix of genres, so whether you want sweet high school drama or dark mafia romance, there’s something here for you.

Some are finished, some are still updating, but all of them are genuinely popular for a reason.

Here’s the fully corrected, renumbered 1-25 list — ready to paste and replace your current version.

I folded “Kill Me” into Dark Romance/Mafia (since “Friends-to-Enemies” no longer had enough entries to justify its own section), fixed the broken usernames, and moved The Fallout into Fandom.

The Big Names (Start Here If You’re New)

1. Chasing Red by isabelleronin
This is basically the granddaddy of Wattpad enemies to lovers. Over 130 million reads. It got so popular it became an actual published book.

The story follows Veronica, who loses her apartment and ends up stuck with Caleb, a college playboy who’s never wanted anything serious in his life — until her. It’s messy, it’s toxic in that addictive fictional way, and it’s the reason half the enemies-to-lovers stories on this list even exist.
Read this if: you want the original. The one that started it all.

2. Bad Boy Roommate by grraciie_
Nearly 60 million reads and 1.4 million votes. That’s not a typo. Two people forced to live together who absolutely cannot stand each other, until they can’t stop thinking about each other either. Classic setup, executed so well it became one of the biggest stories on the entire platform.
Read this if: you love the “forced to share space” trap.

3. Her Secret by dat_one_girl
This one hit #1 in like ten different categories at once — mafia, dark romance, enemies, arranged marriage. Two people bound together by a contract neither of them wanted, and a whole lot of hate that turns into something else. If you want your enemies-to-lovers with a side of danger, this is it.
Read this if: you want mafia drama with your slow burn.

4. Undeniably by sharnahespinosa
16.5 million reads, 79 parts of pure tension. Long story, but that’s the point — the slow burn actually gets to be slow, which is rare. Perfect for a weekend binge.
Read this if: you have time to fall deep into one story for days.

5. Until Death by pigpigpig12345
8.5 million reads, 193K votes. Dark, intense, and the kind of story where you keep telling yourself “one more chapter” until it’s 3am.
Read this if: you like your love stories with real stakes.

–

High School Vibes

6. It Started With A Concussion by everlandwrites
7 million reads. The title says it all — an injury throws two people who can’t stand each other into unexpected closeness. It hit #1 in “brothers best friend,” “hate,” and “tension” categories, so you know the banter is good.
Read this if: you want cute chaos, not dark and heavy.

7. Ice Cream, Teasing and Awkward Situations by SoloBird
Mia just wants a normal senior year. Her arch-nemesis Ethan has other plans. What starts as annoying teasing turns into late-night texting and moments neither of them expected. Light, funny, and genuinely sweet.
Read this if: you want your enemies-to-lovers soft and low-stakes.

8. Two Weeks to Fall in Love by katfeatherly
1.7 million reads. Exactly what it sounds like — a countdown, forced closeness, and two people slowly realizing their hate was never really hate. Fast-paced and easy to binge in one sitting.
Read this if: you want a shorter, tighter story instead of 70+ chapters.

–

Dark Romance and Mafia

9. Over My Dead Body by RebelleFleur00
Two rival mafia heirs are forced into an alliance against a bigger threat. Lots of tension, lots of danger, and the kind of couple who’d rather destroy each other than admit their feelings — until they can’t fight it anymore.
Read this if: you want high stakes and a slow-burn payoff.

10. Touching The Forbidden by sweetdreamer33
3 million reads, 216K votes — a huge vote-to-read ratio, which usually means readers are obsessed, not just scrolling. Dark, intense, and definitely not for the faint of heart.
Read this if: you want your romance with a real edge.

11. Audrey Del Rosso by saturdacy
A mafia romance that’s been quietly building a loyal readership. Less mainstream than some on this list, which makes it feel like a hidden gem if you’ve already read the bigger names.
Read this if: you want something dark that isn’t as widely talked about yet.

12. Bound by Love, Fueled by Hate by Deluludiaries1
Two families that used to trust each other, now torn apart. It’s the classic “our families hate each other but we don’t hate each other” setup, and it works every time.
Read this if: you love a Romeo-and-Juliet style family feud, minus the tragic ending.

13. Kill Me by diebabyxo
716K reads, 17.4K votes. Dramatic title, dramatic story. A darker pick to close out this section, for readers who want their enemies-to-lovers with real teeth.
Read this if: you want your dark romance to hit hard.

–

Sports Romance

14. The Athlete by takumiusui92
Evelyn has hated Atlas, her university’s golden-boy hockey captain, for three years. Then a media project throws them together, and the snarky comments start turning into something neither of them expected.
Read this if: you want hockey rivalry with real slow-burn tension.
⚠️ Verify exact read/vote count on the live Wattpad page before publishing.

15. cherry flavoured by thethreemusket3ers
3.7 million reads and ranked #1 on all of Wattpad at one point. Sharp, witty, and one of those stories where the banter alone is worth reading for.
Read this if: you want quick wit over slow angst.

–

Fandom Favorites

16. Mortem . Sirius Black by selenelaroix
2.7 million reads, 90K+ votes. A Harry Potter-universe story that took the enemies-to-lovers formula and made it feel fresh inside a world you already know.
Read this if: you’re a Harry Potter fan who wants romance mixed with your fandom.

17. Spotlight |h.s| by kiwiharryy
Hit #1 rankings across multiple fandom tags at once. Proof that fandom-based enemies-to-lovers stories can pull in just as many readers as original fiction.
Read this if: you want a fandom story that still nails the trope properly.

18. The Fallout by EveryThursday
706K reads. A Draco Malfoy x Hermione Granger story for the Harry Potter fans on this list — proof that even in a familiar fandom, the enemies-to-lovers formula still hits every time.
Read this if: you’re a Dramione shipper who wants a well-loved fan favorite.

–

Indian Enemies to Lovers

19. Arrange Marriage with Him by Upa187
4.2 million reads, 114K votes. A classic Indian arranged marriage setup — two people from completely different worlds, forced together by family, who start out hating the idea of each other and slowly can’t stay away.
Read this if: you want the “forced together, fell anyway” trope done right.

20. His Undesirable Wife by meeramiller007
1.2 million reads. An arranged-marriage-turned-enemies setup, which is honestly one of the most underrated versions of this trope — you’re already bound together, so the tension builds differently.
Read this if: you like the “forced marriage, unexpected love” angle.

21. So High School! by dramaticass8338
A lighter, teen-focused desi enemies-to-lovers story. Less intense than the others on this list, more about the fun of young love-hate energy.
Read this if: you want something sweeter and younger-feeling.

–

MM / Gay Romance

22. Sheets by sareyen
25.6 million reads, 938 thousand votes. This one is massive — two werewolf alphas who hate each other, then find out they’re mates. Won a Wattpad Fiction Award for Best Werewolf Story. If you only read one MM pick from this list, make it this one.
Read this if: you want paranormal romance mixed with enemies to lovers.

23. Y.O.L.O (Boyxboy) by letsgohomehidee
10.7 million reads, 405K votes. A hugely popular MM story that proves this trope works just as well outside straight romance — maybe even better, since the tension hits different.
Read this if: you want a big, well-loved MM story to start with.

24. Enemies with Benefits by lavender-fields
13.1 million reads. The title tells you exactly what you’re getting — two people who insist they hate each other, doing a very bad job of proving it.
Read this if: you want tension that turns physical fast, then emotional slowly.

25. Even In Pieces [bxb] by the_typewriter_ink
1.4 million reads, 57.8K votes. A quieter, more emotional MM enemies-to-lovers story that focuses on vulnerability as much as the rivalry.
Read this if: you want more feelings, less fighting.
